It's raining...again!

So I'm able to do a bit more to this....

I've had a stab at making some trees....Twigs covered with wire wool, dipped in PVA and sprinkled with herbs. Honest opinions please. The jury is out here! Still loads of greenery to do mind, but it's a start.

I've also started to add fences here and there...Split stirrers, painted, and brown sewing cotton for wire. I thought the snapped and broken posts added a bit of variation....

At last, the finished salmon steps.

If you remember way back at the start of this section, I mentioned the habit of water being more powerful on the outside of bends. See how I've tried to make the flow rougher on the outside as the water 'swings' around the bend in the steps, and where it is calmer on the other side? I've also given the 'stoppers' a bit more foam. I'm well happy how this has turned out.....

Next up more green stuff, and I've just had an idea for the lower pool...not another!

Hang on in there peeps, nearly there....

      Cheers,

      Ron

Your water is superb Ron! And there's a phase I'd never thought I'd say to a chap!

I'm all for herby trees - it's how I do foliage. If you've got any ivy in the garden, pull some up to get at the roots coz it makes for excellent branches & trunks.

Cheers Patrick, I have ivy growing where ivy shouldn't!

There are places down by the trees where even the dog wouldn't dare go....I'm sure there's a German soldier in there who's convinced the war is still going on!!!

for 1/72 size they look very good trees,as for the steps in the water, near as perfect as anyone can get i say, they look like the ones on the river tweed,so well played, the fence posts look very nice as well and the broken bits give it that feast for the eyes

                          Thanks everyone for your comments....

I've put the base to one side for a mo whilst the foliage dries out, and started on the figures. I've changed the 'Story line' a bit and here is the first figure....

He's from the company Zvezda. I always presumed all 1/72 figures were that awful soft polypropelene or whatever it is, but no, these great little figures are hard plastic, so plenty of scope for butchering and are a breeze to clean up, having hardly any seam lines....Highly recommended!
