Thanks Ralph. It looks better after being left to stew for an hour or two.

Cheers Tim.
Here's Ian Holm as Himmelstoss:
A dead ringer. I personally think that the 1979 version of All Quiet is a great film. Beautifully filmed, well acted and they even manage to equal the hand/butterfly shot at the end.Comment

Morning Peter
The weekend is nearly here
I guess you will be "modulating" the larger, flatter parts of the uniform?
As the armour builders would say.
Very striking resemblance to Ian Holm.
Well done.
The equipment and strappery should reduce the flat space nicely.
Have a great weekend with paints and family

Hi Steve. Yes, the weekend is nearly here and awaiting the arrival of my daughter and granddaughter - hooray!
Modulation is a bit tricky without oils or an AB, but I've done my best with the tunic.
The second figure is now finished:
Today, I added the equipment and made the various straps and buckles. The tunic front still looked a little flat in places, so I painted in some more folds and creases to try and liven it up, It will have to do.
The next stage is to sort out a base.Comment

Looks peferfection as always.
Enjoy your time with your daughter and granddaughter. They seem to grow up so quickly, ours is currently in Vietnam
Can't believe she's 19

Steven -Thank you.
John - I'm so glad I don't have to confront track problems very often. Probably would have given up modelling ages ago if I had.
Jim - Thank you. My granddaughter is 7 months old now and very entertaining - quite happy burbling her own language.
Mick - We've all known people like the officer - usually teachers!
They are now paired together on a base and the whole thing is finished:
An enjoyable project, especially staring out with some cheap and dodgy kits.Comment

Morning Peter
Great finish and 2 smart looking figures.
The accessories have made up for the flat parts of the uniforms, but you always knew they would.
It's surprising how you can change things, they should have been 2 of the air aces from WWI, and have had a substantial make over, and well done too.
Off to find your ACW blog.
Have a good weekend with the family

Many thanks. Yes, I used the accessories to cover a lot of the blank areas and hopefully they stand out from the background. I think that built as per kit, they would have been a pair of very dull figures indeed.Comment
