    Morning Peter

Great choices, especially doing more Denison camo again.

Could you list your colours for the Denison and the Para's beret too?

I have some Para's to paint one day, and would really appreciate your colour knowledge.

I have the Connery bust in the stash, along with several other film star busts.

    They always get reduced?

Probably as no one wants to paint well known faces and mess it up!

Good start with the 1st head, and I can see what you mean, it is more Sosabowski than Frost,

Still cold up here but no frost this morning just fog and mist,

Have fun with what little light there is!

    Regards

    Steve H

      Hi Peter
A cracking pair of busts - very generous of Richard.

Steve - Morning from a cold but clear Canterbury. Raging sore throat and earache still, so not enjoying the brisk weather. The beret is done with Vallejo Dark Red over Black Red, with a little white added to the dark red to give highlights. Denison colours to follow, as I haven't decided yet. I read a PF review of the Connery bust and a lot of people said they would have preferred a portrait of the real Urquhart.

Jim - Richard has been more than generous and I am embarrassed by my good fortune (eight figures and busts in the last stash, plus a mass of extra parts). As he says though, he's more into sculpting than painting these days, and his stash would probably never see the light of day otherwise. I try to re-pay him by painting his new sculpts for Mookies Miniatures.

Well, even I'm surprised how quick this one was:

I found the finish on this one a bit below par, as can sometimes be the case with some of these V-Busts from Mitches. Getting a neat end result was therefore a bit difficult was difficult, but it will do.

Super doopah Pierre,He does have a look of Sosabowski about him indeed.Shame the casting fought you a bit,Maybe lil ol Mookies might do a Battledress clad Urqhuart sometime as Arnhem is a great area of interest sculpting wise.Glad my stash surplus is put to good use,Pleasures all mine.

Si - Many thanks for looking in. Glad you like him.

Richard - Glad you like what I've done with him - thanks again. These V-Busts tend to be done in trios, but I can't find out what the other two subjects may have been, if there were any. Funny that the only Urquhart bust available is the Sean Connery one. Over to you?

                      Morning Speedy Gonzales LOL

                      Is that Vallejo English uniform?

Are you still going to do the film coloured denison which seems to be a very washed out 30 year old original?

Which ever, it will be worth seeing your results, especially as this is your first "real" alive person, that I can remember?

Clear cold but no frost here, mild weather on the way, so the BBC say!

Have another good day with the paints

Seems like the sore throat & earache didn't hold you back

                      Feeling better now?

                      Regards

                        Morning Steve.

Feeling worse. Raging sore throat and earache. My wife finally recovered after six weeks, so hopefully I shouldn't be too far behind.

Yes, Vallejo English Uniform. It's a bit too brown and I did try and temper it by adding green, but found it too hard to control and just went with it. I'm going to do the Denison in slightly fresher condition.

Also, you're forgetting the Telly Savalas, Clint Eastwood, Donald Sutherland etc that I did for you. I've also done Morgan Freeman, Denzil Washington and someone from Game of Thrones.

I'm an admirer of your work Peter you truly are a gifted figure painter.
On the Arnhem topic, my grandfather was a Sexton SPG driver with Leicestershire Yeomanry and was part of XXX corp. There's pretty famous photographs of the regiment crossing Nijmegen bridge.
Awesome John Frost can't wait for Connery! Get well soon fella.

                                Hi Peter
As always a lesson in how it should be done - superb even given a slightly iffy casting,
Take care of yourself and recover soon.
