    H GUDERIAN - 1937

    Hi Guys

still jumping between scales, working on my WW1stalled build and having just finished by Luftwaffe officer bust, I'm on to my next bust - Heinze Guderain.

this is based on the illustration in the Osprey book - German WW2 commanders - depicting him in 1937 wearing the black panzer uniform with an overcoat on his shoulders.

    here is the unpainted bust:

As normal, its the head to start with.

Steve - some nice blocks of colour.

Here. are photos of the torso completed. Painted in Vallejo and the shadong emphasised using ground up pastels:

I am quite pleased with the results of the pastels, it may seems strange since they are usually applied to AFV's for weathering, but on this scale they give a bit of texture which is appropriate for these uniforms.

Thanks Peter, I'm sure it will need some more work when the head is added but I'm pleased with the start and the way the pastels have worked.

I', quite enjoying jumping between scales - this and my 1/35th 'stalled build.

here is the result of today's effort with Guderian. When i've finished painting the beret it will be back to refine the face and then finalise the torso.

                          Hi Guys

i've been a bit sidetracked this week - been protesting outside our Parliament yesterday morning against some proposed changes to our secondary school system. A long story and very distracting, but i have managed to work on Guderian and finished him.

                          here is a photo:

not sure about his mustache - he had a very thin one which I find diffiecut to get right. i may call this one finished but come back to it in a couple of weeks to look at it with fresh eyes.

                          Peter
