Yes honestly Emma I am relatively new here and have had nothing but encouragement from all but I have been building models(scratch built ships mostly) for years only got back into plastic Christmas time, but I am still nervous about my first meet tomorrow, so I agree with Si get some builds under your belt first and anyone who is derogatory to your builds is not someone to be listened to.Comment

I was once a member of an IPMS model group many years ago.
We held a competition with judge from Leeds IPMS, who offered no constructive criticism and was rude with his comments.
It put me off showing any of my models or joining any clubs since, and then I found this forum.
The gal/guys here will be always be honest with their comments, and direct if they feel something could/may be improved.
Nothing heavy, just honest down to earth constructive criticism to help improve our efforts.
You will enjoy it here!

I have to admit all this is quite new for me...let me explain, all you know I'm not english, but I'm here
There isn't any kind of club where I live (in fact on the big city as well). So my first option was a modelling forum in my mother language. But, oh my God!! After a fast look, mmm...how to explain..."bad vibrations". Just wondering if a club as the same as a spanish forum...
Sometimes I have the "wish" to talk with my country modellers. So when I hear you have many different clubs I'm really glad for all you guys
and much better if I hear all goes perfect as well!!
Errr...you accept another country members ? :PComment

the thing with modelling is that we build on our own which is not always a good thing ," it is good to talk " as the advert says , i too have joined my local ipms and we have a great time with info flowing and models looked over , it is hard to beat this forum but you cant beat a face to face .Comment
