    What I used to do!

I can't believe there is so much hidden talent on here.

I know the modelling/projects are always brilliant, however the people themselves are simply amazing.

So much personal history in the individuals!

A very varied life but nothing compared to many on here.

But have lived and worked in 4 different countries.

At one point in the late 80's early 90's I instructed in the workshops of one of the Princes in Rihyad.

Teaching western techniques/procedures of 'Paint and Body' & '2 Pack Paint Systems' to a multinational workforce.

To be honest I believe the Tai's, Filipino's and Turk's taught me more about tin bashing than I could ever teach them.

They could take a sheet of mild steel, and beat and form it into any panel I couldn't get from a supplier, and all done by hand.

Very clever people who didn't have access to modern/western tools and equipment in their own countries.

Hopefully they took some of my knowledge with them, I know I certainly took a lot of theirs with me.

Being an admitted adrenalin junkie, most of my life has involved, paint, building, racing high performance vehicles, or anything with a noisy motor and wheels.

Left my last Baby in Cyprus with the 'RAF Akrotiri Karting Club'

Finally hung my spray-gun, race suit and helmet up when we returned from living in Cyprus 3 years ago due to my wife's illness.

Miss it a lot but got to be sensible now.

A few photo's below of just some of my toys over the years. + the last vehicle I painted before leaving Saudi.

The prince's motor home prior to him clearing off into the desert for Ramadan.

                  Long story about the Mexico.

I restored the paintwork on it for a friend at JSU Ay Nikolias Cyprus.

He found it abandoned and brought it to the camp where I carried out the work in the 'Indoor Karting Track' hanger, after he had stripped and rebuilt it.

He took it to RAF Akrotiri when finished, to fly it back to the UK.

The Cypriot Antiquity And Heritage Authorities decided it came under their jurisdiction, and refused to allow it to be removed from the country.

He dismantled it and flew it out part by part as spares

If you like escorts there is a scrapyard just outside Larnaca with many of them, all stripped to bare shells.

You were telling porkies Gregg.Looks like you've had a pretty interesting life to me.The motor home is surprisingly dent free for a Saudi vehicle.I bet it wasn't in as good nick when the prince came back from the desert!

Wasn't in very good condition when it was originally brought in to be honest.

At one period I went over to Dammam to correct a faulty paintjob (incorrect pearlescent mix) on a restoration

Before and after shots of Pontiac Firebird brought in from the desert for us to restore.

The Saudi's kept reciting a phrase to me. 'If it can be said, it can be done'

I spent a lot of my free time while living in Cyprus, photographing all the abandoned vehicles lying around I could find.

                            A car restorers dream land.

Unfortunately if, or when you find the owner, the price is invariably 10,000 euro. regardless of condition.

Then the ministery of transportation then want back taxation to when it was last taxed, this being based on engine capacity (per cc)

Some of the vehicles I found go back 50-60 years.

There is also a compound of military & airport vehicles just outside Larnaca that have been there since the late 60's early 70's.

Photographed all I could find, and could fill an album on here.
