    Why-oh-why...

Do I insist on this modelling lark lol.

I am 90% through a AMT Klingon-Bird-Of-Prey, and it is another that has fought me...but not via the actually kit-it is me that has fought it by being...well a numpty. Gluing wrong pieces, sticking them and me together with CA, sat in the shed with glue all over my bare fat gut-not a pretty sight I can assure you-then, having not realised that I had spilt some CA glue, rested my hand down and stuck that to the desk!

I have spent 6 hours today wrestling with this plastic demon and I have developed this irrational hatred of the thing-even though it was all my doing...have to blame something...might as well be the model lol.

It may not get showcased fellas...depends if I finish it.

Never mind Si some go more smoothly than others I've had my fair share of battles with kits and my mind on some builds I am a very patient person but sometimes I have to put the glue down and walkway to regroup and come back fighting I've only ever destroyed one kit and that was an old 1/43 heller Porsche after painstakingly glueing the windows in and filling around them cause of the bad fit one of them popped out and that was the straw that broke the camels back after all the other numerous problems with the kit unlucky for the Porsche it was in the palm of my hand when the window popped and instinctively my hand turned into a car crusher there was never going to be a save on this so I emptied my hand into the bin and bid it good riddance. Stay cool keep calm and carry on but if you feel a flare up on the way put it down and walkway cheers John

You will beat it Si and it will look amazing as they always do just take a breath calm down and remember, it's just a piece of plastic. Now get back in there and give it hell.

If things go wrong, they do, I take a breath. Then before doing anything else I tidy up, put all tools away, dust the shelves and hoover the room.

Then I am back in perfect ! order ready to tackle the thing that went wrong.

Started model making 4 years ago and I am a stickler for getting things right and will be most unhappy if they are not. This is to such an extent that for instance I filled and rescribed part of the Merlin 4 times. I have been so surprised that my patience has changed, all due to model making, from a person who was very impatient. I will take infinite time over some parts compared to when I started. Then it was get the model finished in double time no time to wait for paint to fully cure.

Si. Superglue. I bought from the pound shop some very small beaker shaped clear plastic objects. They are just over an inch high. Lump of Bluetak stuck on one side of the rim then stuck to the work top so that the mini beaker is at an angle. Decant a small amount of SG in the bottom which will rest in a pool at the very bottom of the beaker.

No spills easy to use. Helps your brain in two ways. One you do not get it stuck to the work top. Two your brain is then very happy.

Ta guys. I have found the hobby a tad frustrating lately, and I think it is down to me, patience is flagging. Could be stress, my illness, just need to relax more. I normally walk away if a build is giving me grief but I doggedly stuck at this one and maybe I should have walked away. Anyway, new day, fresher eyes will tidy up the model and get it finished.

Good tip Laurie, thank you for that.
