    Motivation Wanted

Gadzooks, who'd a thunk. Have about a dozen models in various stages of abuse, spent the last month downloading over 400 books and magazines for reference, read all hobby sites on-line daily and haven't put glue to plastic in about 2 months. I will even go so far as to sit at my table and stare at the instructions. Summer and golf are calling so if any of you can offer some inspirational stories about how you got over my new found plastic phobia, it would be appreciated. (I work 6on/6off so time isn't an issue and have Tamiya to Hobbycraft so the ease and variety is there.)

Pull yer finger out and crack on!!! :smile1:

I only just got back to modelling so don't have the issue, I would recommended a break to be fair. They will still be there once you get your mojo back.

Everyone hits the wall every so often. Don't worry you'll get the bug backk again and will be making a dent in that dozen models.

We all hit the wall once in a while. Sun has been shining for the last two or three days here too. So out in the garden doing all the 'duty' things. Actually quite enjoyed it! How ever after a couple of hours in the sun with a spade, its nice to come in the cool and sit down and relax a bit. So my build times are longer than normal, but instead of just sitting down and cracking on, its an hour here an hour there.

Don't force yourself to do it, other wise it will seam like a chore. The urge will come.

George, it's summer time. the sun is out, life is good, so I ease up on the modelling anyway.....That can wait for the longer nights.

As an old mate of mine once said "Take five and smell the flowers."

Plenty of time to get back in the groove.

Yes, don't force it, walk away and let it come back naturally

I find that the building gets me going. I mess about, sometimes for days, checking I've got everything from the paints I'll need to spare scalpel blades, anything to put off that first step of the build. Once I finally stick those first bits together I find I'm off and running. I was hesitating over starting my current build so I decided to do an "under construction" thread here on the forum. I figured once I'd announced I was going to do it to all and sundry I'd damned well have to get on with it.

I'd say pick a build of a subject you have an interest in and take that first step. If it doesn't get you going then I agree with those above who said walk away and come back later.

              Cheers
