    Plasticard

I've just ordered some of this to have a go at scratch building but I was wondering how flexible and how easy to cut it might be , also would it be better to make a template of the shape I want to cut out ?

    Any info is greatly received

Depending on thickness it is easy to cut, shape and bond. It is light, can be primed and painted that is why it used a lot in model boats.

Cheers mate I've gone for the 30thou (0.25mil) thickness so that makes it about as thick as 10 standard sheets of paper , that's a nice thickness for what I have planed

Even 1mm plasticard can be easily cut with decent scissors Alan.

My tip would be to draw out the desired shape on graph paper & then stick the paper to the plasticard.

You can cut out the shape much more accurately that way.

Keep your off cuts Alan as they are great for filling seam gaps. Using Poly I have found they produce a very strong joint which will not crack as does sometimes a filler.
