What do folks do with their builds?

I am about to embark on building but have no idea what to do with the finished builds I have no room to display them, all I can do is keep them in boxes out of harms way.

So what does everyone do with all their finished models?

I sell some on, give others away and keep a few.

I just enjoy building and they take pride of place good or bad around the house for a while until I lose interest in them when normally something more recent takes there place and the old one goes up into the loft on shelves were my modelling bench is . I couldn't bring myself to sell them and I am not sure anyone would pay money for mine anyways

I don't get much for mine-well not the time involved element-and I did hate getting rid of stuff but now, it is either they go or I stop modelling.

Yeah, but yours a rather good Adrian, I show only some of mine...the rest are hidden in the depths of the mancave.

I put so much of me into every model that I just cannot part with them otherwise I will feel I have wasted my time.

I put them on shelves above my work area. The large beasts hang from the higher shelves which make a good effect and free up more shelf space.

With a bit of ingenuity there is considerable scope for display.

Just been looking and in an area about 4 feet long by 15 " high I can get in quite comfortably 15 models about 3 hanging from the shelf above. Most are 1/48. With another layer of the smaller ones about another 6 suspended below the bigger ones. Bit crushed then but all the little darlings, 20 of them, will be cosily displayed.

At least you could get 15 over the bed suspended from the ceiling. 2 in the kitchen couple in the lounge and three seaplanes in the bog area.

The world is your oyster. Depends a lot on whether it is also your wife's pleasure. But there we are 40 models quite easily "stashed".

My first attempts have mostly found their way to my 7-y-o son. They don't last long after that. I have to be very specific about ones I want to remain in one piece - they're not very sturdy toys...! As I get better I'm going to be more strict about which ones he can play with...

                          Pleased about that Si.

My model area is and has been a complete wretched mess for a fortnight with a complete make over. Withdrawal symptoms have set in and that is just Pauline.

Models all over the place. But nearly there and all models will be treated to pride of place. And they will be even the first that 1/72 WW11 Typhoon (the one I had to buy another Typhoon to finish the first).

display cases in the corner............every now and then i have a tidy out and box up some to make room for new stuff.....all the boxed up stuff goes in the loft

one day, when i win the lottery and can afford a big house with a big mancave they will all come out again

I think I'll get away with a couple out and store the rest rotating them now and then.
