Up to Devon in 10 days time.

Nothing in Jersey of model interest etc.

So in Devon for a fortnight from the 11th September.

Any info., on model making, on anything going on in a and in the countys surrounding Devon would be appreciated.

I will be visiting the Fleet Air Arm Museum. Pauline is not aware of this yet but I am. This will cost me a day at some country house with a large garden and a restaurant. But it is a fair trade off.

Your info gratefully received. Also good model shops. I do know of two in Plymouth. One near the Toys R Us. and the one near the bus places.

Don't know about model shops down there Laurie but depending where your staying in Devon the tank museum in Bovington Dorset isn't too far and is worth a look.

I'm taking my nephew to the Fleet Air Arm Museum on Monday. Can't wait, must remember to take my camera!

Thanks Jason. Yes I have been to Bovington and very nice museum. Also the adjacent "Lawrence of Arabia" cottage and museum. We are in Tavistock which is away. But with a bit of luck the weather will turn horrible the boat delayed then time for Bovington.

You will enjoy the Fleet Air Arm museum. Been to Hendon and an number around the UK and for me the FAA is the best. You can get right up to the aircraft with trestles to see inside the cockpits etc. Need a whole day for it.

Isca models in Exeter is worth a visit, it's on Fore St. There is also a smaller shop on Commins Rd called Model Cellar I think. If trains are your thing or you are looking for scenic modelling material then The Model Shop on St. David's Hill is good to go.

Further afield is Buffers just outside Axminster - http://www.buffersmodelrailways.com
On the bench: Airfix 1/48 Sea King HC4, Revell 1/24 Trabant.
Coming soon: Airfix 1/72 Phantom FGR2.
Just finished: Airfix 1/48 Stuka & Airfix 1/72 Sea King HC4.

Just for info if you are going to the fleet air arm you might interested in a quick diversion to taunton there you will find a small looking toy shop called watkins at the top of east reach with a small but packed model department.

Don't forget the Cobbaton Combat Collection, 5 1/2 miles east of Barnstaple.
