Hi all my boss has had a chainsaw a self propelled mower and a brush cutter stolen they broke in every out house and garage. They only stole petrol driven devices but left 2 ride on mowers (the police think they were disturbed or they would have had them) the police also think now they know they are here they will be back. The policeman we spoke to said it has gone mad in this area for garden machinery (Halstead and Braintree ) so be warned guard your mowers and such.
Beware in essex lawn mower thefts

On the news Ken a few days ago that robbers are now finding it lucrative to steal from sheds tools etc. There has been a dramatic increase in this activity. Easy to dispose of the stuff. Car boot sales etc. Plus it does not take to much intelligence and the setting up of the enterprise is quite cheap. Add bicycles. Would not put it past them to resurrect the old practice of nicking garden gnomes a thieving past time from the 1960s.
Apart from getting a leg bitten off by a dog every now and then there is little risk.
If you have a dog lock it in the shed over night.
