Hello Thumper A handsome wee cat, take lots of photos for yourself because they grow fast.

I just returned from the vet, our Charlie has a hole behind his ear from a fight so that's not ideal. Nor was the vet fee.

Last week is was me: a neighbour's cat was getting into the house via the cat flap and stealing food and spraying. I caught it doing so last week at 3am and chased it out of the house. Locked the cat flap and went back to bed. Then I heard something again so got up and it was in the house again. I had locked the cat flap so it could get in but not out, must have been in a daze. Because it couldn't get out it went berserk. I made a huge error of trying to pick it up. Never seen a cat go so nutty, it doubled in size and struggled with me. Result: scratches down one arm tooth punctures in the left wrist lots of blood and pain. Rachael got the thin gout of the house and then cleaned my cuts. Later that day my wrist swelled and had to go to A&E. Tetanus shot, anti-biotics which I finished yesterday, and now I'm pretty much healed except for the puncture wound which is taking time. And now Charlie has joined the wound club, a week of anti-biotics and some anti-viral stuff to syringe into the poor bugger's gums.

          Advice for Thumper from Charlie:

          1. Get him micro-chipped.

          2. Get a micro-chip cat door. It's more expensive but it stops strays and you can go away knowing your cat can go in and out safely.

          3. Try to keep him in at night (something that is easier said than done with a nocturnal animal).

          4. Get the Feline AIDS vaccination. Otherwise you get to pay big money for anti-viral medicine if he gets injured by another cat.

          Enjoy!

Our cats never seemed to like me until the last one. As he got to middle age he used to creep slowly onto my lap and snuggle down. Then a lovely purr.

Often wondered what he saw in me the others did not.

I am jealous Peter . We would like to have another cat and a dog. But at mid seventies we thought it unfair as they get so attached and I can not guarantee I will live to 90 although there is great hope o_O

He is lovely, I hope you both enjoy each others company and may he have a long and happy life with you.

I can see trouble ahead: Peter trying to work away on a build-paint spilt, models knocked off, brushes chewed...Peter sat crying.

                We have a proverb here....

If you have a dog, the dog live in your house. If you have a cat, YOU live in the cat's house!!!!

                He is the boss

                        Nice one Pete.

Great paintjob the fur looks very real. No wait I got it now.

                        Cute.

Well Polux lets be seeing it then.

After having had four cats vanish never to return we closed in our terrace with plastic netting and doors- They can go out side as often as they like, without being free to roam. It also keeps other cats out.

Have been woken up at three in the morning by our cat fighting with a stranger, IN OUR BEDROOM. That got the pulse going I can tell you.

Dont feel bad about it Laurie. our cats NEVER come up on my lap. They do however pin my wife to the sofa for hours on end.
