Is not a criticism...and I'm the first guilty...ops: maybe we need a related theme! I'm talking to post "more" specific threads (like Barry's one) to explain "profundly" the weathering or other tips, and some articles as well.

Time ago I promised to Ian to wrote one...but never finished it ops: maybe now is the "time" to do it!

There are several good modellers here, all together we can redact a few threads if we want...

I would write one!! Any more want to join and prepare one??

Can we figure out how to do it...

There hs been some very helpful feedback here. Thank you.

So if i try to keep my low profile, can we all try to make a more information full build thread and if questions relevant to the build are raised other places, Include a link to and from the relevant threads...

Think if you raise the question in the build thread and also start a new thread then you are going to get answers all over the place.

Best I would think is. Start a new thread about your difficulty. Then in the build thread mention the problem and guide them to the thread about the difficulty.

Do not see any easy way of doing this except to rely on members to follow this. procedure. Most things rely on this method any way so there is nothing new here. Suppose if some one starts a build thread you could have a caption pleading with members to follow this procedure.

If they do not Ian tell them off ban them from build sections in future . Kidding o_O

So we will leave things alone and carry on "because that what we/everyone has always done."

No problem there. I just though it migh give a more "complete" Build thread.

I will go away now and take my pills.

Can we have a 'test' forum ? A place where you go to try new weathering or scratch building techniques

Short reply to that would be no. We have sections in which such things can be posted already.

Yes but a test forum keeps them all in one place and easier to find

You mean exactly like this post Ian? (As in, should this be in the Jokes section?)

                  Company Policy

Start with 5 monkeys in a cage.

Hang a banana from the roof of the cage and place a stair under it.

If any monkey tries to climb the stair to reach the banana, spray ALL of the monkeys with cold water. Do this every time one of the monkeys tries to reach the banana.

Pretty soon, when one monkey tries to reach the banana, the other monkeys will prevent it - you will not need to spray them with water.

Replace one of the monkeys with a new one. As soon as the new one tries to reach the banana, the other monkeys will stop it. Eventually, he will stop trying.

Now replace another of the original monkeys with another new monkey.

As soon as this monkey tries to reach the banana, the other monkeys, including the first replacement, will stop him. Eventually, he too will stop trying to reach the banana.

Now replace yet another of the original monkeys.

As soon as he tries to reach the banana, the other monkeys will stop him. Even though half of them do not know why.

Replace the fourth and fifth monkeys in the same way.

Now, no monkey has been sprayed with cold water, yet NONE of them will try to reach the banana.

                  Why not?

Because, as far as they know, that’s the way it’s ALWAYS been around here.

And that’s where company policy comes from.....

Well I think Ian it will give a more complete thread but in always if you can link the build and a thread asking for help. But unless there is a way in software terms then it is up to the author of the build thread.

Can a flagged message be included when the build thread is started to ask for associated threads to be highlighted in the build thread. At least that is a start.

A build SOS section or an SOS icon which can be added to the thread title where any question can be asked about a build under construction (forgive me just an idea) what I tend to do is if I have a problem I do my best to sort it myself before I ask here thanks John

We were only having a reasoned discussion, and suggesting options that might have helped you resolve this issue ....no need to shout!

Sorry Ron, I was not shouting, I have a (bad?) habit of using caps as emphasising. Others use bold, Italics orunderlining.
