deep & meaningfull question for squif!

I wonder if anyone else has pondered over this.

    squiffythewombat AKA Toby...

what is your obsession with wombats?

all your e-mails, your avatar and your signature are to do with wombats.

were you a wombat in a previous life perhaps?

    also, where is "squiffy" from?

LOL Richard, its a long story....

awhile back in school i was part of a TEFL (teaching english as a foreign lanuage) group where we would teach foreign students. Being somewhat a idiot back then i though it was funny to teach them the wrong words for things....yes harsh i know!

One day this cute little kid asks what a squirril was called, "oo thats a squiffy wombat" i said! After many an amusing joke on the subject the kid realised and called me "squif" ever since. My mates thought it was rather amusing so the nickname stuck!

Since then ive used the name "Squiffy_The_Wombat" for all my nicks, its easy for people to find me from forum to forum and its an unusal name i like to think!

"squiffy" is an old english word being drunk or happless so, back in my college days it seemed rather fitting! The wombats getting sucked into jet engines thing came around after a drunken pub conversation about why eagles were better than wombats....to win the arguement, i pointed out that eagles get sucked into engines, wombats dont! :-P

So really theres very little to do about wombats or austrilia although i would KILL to visit !

A few years ago in Flight magazine they used to publish military aircraft accidents from around the world. One caught my eye. It was a Pakistani F16 i think and the caption read W/O .HIT WILD BOAR ON TAKE OFF.PILOT EJECTED.
