We have all been there and for me it is a Quick Fix that is needed! Do something really stupid and off the wall that you would never normally think of doing and build it, just for the smile. Something such as an Airfix Wallace and Gromit or some other cartoon character etc. Also important to do something that is quick to finish so you will see the results soon and give your mojo a bit of a boost.

My "solution" is do puzzles, just some days... and then I hear the glue and the brush calling again ...

A malady that grips all of us at some time or other.

My biggest problem is having to make space on our living room floor, laying a dust sheet and transferring everything from my modelling cupboard.

Then the reverse to put it all away, and clean up.

If I haven't got set up before 19-00hrs, it's not worth starting, and weekends we normally have family members visiting so that's a no-no.

Especially my two wicked step-daughters, who love to take the michael out of my pastime.

Thank you all for your advice and concern much appreciated. I am writing this as I am sitting in the couch with the most perfect piece i have ever constructed, my little girl MIA who will be 3 years old in December.

That's very true, wait till that gorgeous little cutie becomes a hormone driven teenager, that feeling you have now will get very strained, but once she's grown out of that phase, you will find you love her even more. They're always your children even when they're 25 and 30 and sometimes they will make you think they were so much less worrisome as babies. They are the one thing you create that keeps evolving. I am so proud of mine (ones a cabin manager for easyjet the other is a history teacher) I am sure Mia will grow up to be your pride and joy too.

Special build there Scott. A lot of care and attention needed in the after care of such a build.

Just shows the best builds take a long time to complete

I'm emerging from a lull and loss of mojo, mainly due to having so much else on. A rest helps. Then one day you will read a book or watch something on TV which will spark your enthusiasm back into life. I picked up a quick 1/72 Spitfire and have nearly finished it. Already have two more kits lined up, now the enthusiasm is back. Laurie's and Ian's suggestions of a clean up and sort out is a good way of starting afresh. I was sorting through my kits when I found the Spitfire.

Haven't been near a kit since March, nights are now closing in and I've got 4 on the go, my build rate always drops when the sun's out.

Have also changed jobs so now actually have time to do what I want. On the hunt for a decent 1/72 Me262 and a He177 Greif.
