What's happened here ?

I was having a bit of a change around in the cave this evening when I noticed this

as you can see it's gone cloudy and I thought it might be because it was in a window but my other vipers are as well and there fine
This is what it did look like

is there anything I can do to bring it back ?

Wow that's some fogging!

Freshly glued and the 'Office' is more airtight than anticipated perhaps??

That's strange it looks as though the plastic has been smoked. You sure the pilot didn't sneak a pack of cigs in with him.

Can you remove it (I assume you used wood glue) if you can get it off maybe it's just condensation inside and will just wipe off.

At a guess condensation as Ken has indicated.

Warm room during the day absorbing moisture into the canopy which is probably at a higher temperature than most of the room. Temperature drops and the air in the canopy can not contain the moisture and deposits it on the coldest part in contact the canopy cover, Hence condensation.

As mentioned just a guess. If not a puzzle as it has happened so quickly.

As the post above its not glued Ken I thought it might have been dust so I removed it and washed it but no joy I'm afraid , it's really baffled me

Answer crossed yours Alan. if this is not condensation. Take it you have wiped the inside of the canopy.

Have you tried a bit of IPA on just a very small section ?

Possible reaction between paint solvents or construction glue have fogged it. Or heat from the sun has warmed the glue releasing solvents. Or the canopy has reacted to UV.

What did you use to glue the office in place? Just a long shot but perhaps the fumes from that have caused the reaction?

The canopy wasn't added until I'd finished the build so all glue and paint had cured , it isn't sunlight either as this was next to my viper MKII and that was built about six months before and the canopy is still as clear as day on that , the only thing I can put this down to is a flaw in the plastic or as Ken said the pilot is a heavy smoker lol

This is a real head banger !

Dip it in some future floor wax.

I would hang on there a moment. If the surface has been altered by something external (glue etc) then dipping it in Future / Klear will only seal it on to the canopy. Then you'll never get it off.
