Unfortunately it looks like no one does a canopy John. The only option is to get one from another kit. The canopy on the 15 was carried over to the early 17's so you could also look out for those , the thing to remember though is that the later , missile armed 17 PF's and PFU's had a different front section ,being longer to accomodate the HUD and missile sighting system. hope this helps , cheers tony

I am no expert on Russian flying things, maybe Tony can help, but one option open to you is to get hold of a Tasman/Falcon vac-formed MiG-17 canopy. I can't see too much of a difference from looking at the two types online. http://www.jaysmodelkits.com/jaysmk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=102_104&pro ducts_id=391
Edit: found that the canopy is the same shape as the MiG-15-bis except the MiG-17 has a thinner lateral frame across the rear of the canopy. That would be easily altered. Get a MiG-17 canopy John, I reckon that is the cheapest fix.Comment

Ok lads thanks for all the help offered but for the moment looks like we are beat but I will not be defeated.Ive requested a replacement from revell (but won't be holding my breath on that option) So in the meantime I will try and hunt down another kit and already have my beady eye on one.My plan is to form another canopy from the other kit but never ever attempted this before so that should be interesting. But I am sure some of the great people here will advise me.Once again big thanks to everyone for all help and advice offered cheers JohnComment

Well no reply from revell regarding replacement canopy so in the meantime I've acquired a duplicate kit from ebay this one did have a canopy but no decals also listed as complete arghhhh! So now I have 2 migs 1 set of decals and one canopy. The decals can be shared around to give 2 different versions but I need to form another canopy from the doner kit and as I don't want to wreck the only canopy I have what would be the best/safest method of forming another one.Any help and advice greatly appreciated thanks JohnComment

Send item back and ask for refund
eBay does take care of that
Then search and buy a new item complete instead

Maybe make complete MiG-15 up John; the second you can sell back to one of the folk you bought it off as 'one careful second owner'.Some would suggest doing a crash scene for the second incomplete model. Pilot ejected, the airframe got damaged and the markings could be applied roughly with paint, or alternatively do you have stash of decals which may contain the markings for a country which operated the MiG-15?

You can look on eBay for "lots" and "parts" if you are lucky enough you should find it
As far as website try
http://www.Hobby.dn.ua
Select English
They have pretty much everything
Also Hannants office on line has a great selection of aftermarket...
If not lucky you need to shape a piece of wood from some drawing and then vacuform with clear acetate
After 100 times u will eventually get it rightComment
