    britmodeller

I registered early yesterday morning with Britmodeller and my registration has been validated. But still, the button "YOU CANNOT REPLY" prevents me from replying to any of its posts. After my registration was accepted, a message appeared on their page saying something like "The administrator wishes to vet new members." Although the site offers the ability to contact one of their moderators, the links don't work. Therefore, there is no way that I can contact Britmodeller.

Could someone here who is a member of Britmodeller (and their membership works) please send a message to them asking them to complete my registration process so that I can reply to posts.

I used the same board name "Stevekir" as here and the details they gave me confirming my registration is:

    "Thank you for registering.

We require that you "validate" your registration to ensure that

the email address you entered was correct. This protects against

    unwanted spam and malicious abuse.

To activate your account, simply click on the following link:

    http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?app=core&module=global&section=register& do=auto_validate&uid=17761&aid=021f5aded4cf13e877c 5491c5254037d "

I have done that several times but it doesn't work. I have also validated several times by the other method.

    Thanks.

There we are John can deliver goods in the quarter of the time Britmodeller take to vet some one. "Vet " ?

Their moderator. How are they going to vet you Steve or any body. They will not have a clue. Just laziness of the moderator. You or any body could be God or the Devil (or even somebody in-between) they will not know.

I tried Britmodeller and didn't like it. You need a photo hosting website to post pictures of your builds and I don't have one of these sites and have no intention of signing up for one.
On the bench: Airfix 1/48 Sea King HC4, Revell 1/24 Trabant.
Coming soon: Airfix 1/72 Phantom FGR2.
Just finished: Airfix 1/48 Stuka & Airfix 1/72 Sea King HC4.

I have used Photobucket in the past but it has changed the layout of its main page and selected images often don't load so it no longer works for me.

That is one of the beauties of this site. Load up with a press of a button. Trying to load 10 photos with photo bucket is an nightmare.

Worse still is some one decides to spring clean their files you get a lot of blanks.

On the other hand, a photo storing site like Photobucket allows photos to be viewed by friends, customers etc. without them being stored on to their friends' or customers' computers (except when requested). I assume that all photos that we upload to this forum get stored on John's server immediately (as with other sites), and stay there for a very long time. John must have very big hard drive capacity (good for us).

Yes, you are right. However, the address is one I use for contacting people with whom I do not want to have a continuing relationship, like airline ticketing, internet purchases, pestering girls etc. If it becomes a nuisance I delete the address on my ISP's server and create another. But I have just edited my post as it has served its purpose.
