    Airfix Advent Calendar

Airfix.com have an advent calendar which I only just found today annoyingly, as yesterday you could enter a competition just by entering email address to win a 1/24 Typhoon - not too shabby for an email address and on the 1st was a £100 voucher for the site. Looks like it will be worth keeping an eye on, but note that each competition only lasts for that day so you need to check each day.

    [edit] duh! link is http://www.airfix.com/calendar-2014

Oh, well I have never have a problem with that site so far, not even last Friday when quite a few others struggled.

This was run last year too across all of the Hornby brands. Last year there was a vote for Joe type competition each day to win a prize. This year's is a little different though. I didn't win anything last year and so far so not very good.

Lol trust me Alan I'm not the best myself I get left behind by my two lads ones 24 and works in I.T which at times is very useful and even my 14year old leaves me standing.I will be entering every competition on the calendar were possible but not today as I don't have a Xmas jumper yet and it would be interesting if everyone did the same to see if anyone on this forum could actually win anything for all those that do take part good luck and please post if you manage to get lucky cheers John and happy Christmas to you all

There is a screen saver for each month - there are images at different sizes for each month of next years calendar. Find the size that fits the screen resolution you use, right click on your mouse and it should have a menu item to save as desktop, and voila, new desktop paper. No purchase required.

It even tells you what screen size you are using:

"We have reduced the number of wallpaper options to the five most popular sizes - these can be adjusted on your computer if necessary when you set your new wallpaper. These five sizes cover all screen ratios and can be re-sized or used to fill any resolution.

Each month, a new desktop calendar wallpaper will be made available for download. All you need to do is click on the screen size you require to open the image and then right click on the wallpaper image and select "Set As Desktop Background."

                      Your screen size is 1366 x 768"

I assume the screen size changes for whatever you have.
