    Sounds like a virus Dave.

Can you run your virus protector. ?

    Or do a go back.

Done both Laurie - several System Restore points going back about 6 months and I've used three different anti virus programs in the last couple of months - AVG (both their free version and the trial of their paid version), Windows Essential Security and Antimalware.

It's got me tearing what's left of my hair out! Sometimes it takes up to 30 minutes for me to be able to use my 'puter 'cos the background programs are using all my memory.

oh sounds like fun Dave,as you said you still have restore, points,

have you tried to delete all but one of each, then run a scan and reboot,

if it ask at startup to reinstall say no and see how that go,s

I get these horrible things happen as well,

maybe silly to ask but is it restoring to an early time,as i did not know

you need to disable the AVG to do it ,and set untill, next start to have AVG come back

OK Dave. i had daft things happening to mine a while back despite having all the virus things etc.

Decide to have a go at malware. Mine was free as a starter and that worked. I had pages producing themselves on Firefox and many other daft things. Slowing up etc.Worth a try.

The alternative and sometimes you have to take the bull by the horns and re-install hard but it sometimes save time and heart ached.
