    My absence from the forums.

Firstly let me say I'm not posting this for no other reason than to explain my lack of activity of late.

Depression, it's as simple as that. This time of year is normally hard for me as many will know I lost my mom in Nov 2 years ago, now with my brother forcing the sale of my home I find it even harder to cope day to day. So I get to my bench pick up a kit and stare at it, after a while I put it away and leave the room.

I've managed to post a few comments of late but again I stare at the screen often without typing anything.

Works been very good and I see someone each week just to chat and it's that person that said it my be beneficial to open up a little.

So I'm sorry for my delay on my 1:24th Mustang, bear with me and I hope to have progress on it really soon.

Do need to explain Adrian, although I think it is very honest and took a lot of courage to say what you have.

You're not alone mate, I have been seeing someone for over 2 years- I have a history of 2 suicide attempts and then in the last two years thoughts again that made me use my modelling skills in constructing a exit-bag. I knew something was wrong and sought help. Depression takes on many forms and even the loss of a loved one can take many years to come to terms with. One of my reasons for modelling is to help with depression and it does help, although like you there are times I just sit and stare.

Join us when you want, build when you want and most of all, talk if you want.

    Take it easy mate.

    Si

I wondered why you were missing Adrian.

Just keep coming here and chatting in when you feel like it. Cure or not it helps to keep contact..

Hope things get easier with time. Not easy I have had experience with my youngest son and know some of the problems.

        All the best

This time of year can have the same effect on people myself included for personal reasons and it does help to talk about it and sometimes the Internet is the perfect place to do it as you aren't face to face with someone so chat away mate your never on your own if you come on here

I realise I'm quite new around here, but I'll echo the above. It's important to be able to say how you feel, plenty of people struggle with depression, it's nasty and very real. Hobbies are hobbies, you should do them when you want to, if that means some builds get shelved for a while so be it. Look after yourself and know you are absolutely not the only one dealing with this, and the more openly we talk about it the better it is. Mental health in the uk can be a poor 2nd place to physical health so glad you're able to see someone.

I hope everything gets sorted soon Adrian, and you're back on track.

As Tony writes, see you at Cosford.

Adrian as the others have said above. There is no need to explain at all. All that matters is that you get better and start to enjoy life again. It might take a while but we're not going anywhere. If you ever feel like you need to vent off then I'm all ears mate.

Take care and hope things get better for you soon
