I have just spoken with the Airfix rep who tells me that the container with this new model is on the way here and that the stock should be in the local model shops within 2 weeks - ie by the end of March.

Also the new Humbrol range of paints including the new acrylics will be about 2/3 weeks after that. Hope this helps.

        Hi,

My first post to the forum. I have just purchased the Airfix Severn Class Lifeboat and Sea King Helicopter Air Sea Rescue set. A little about myself:Been building models since I was 10 years old(55 now) and I am still building them.

          Welcome to the forums Martin!

I haven't built the Airfix Lifeboat, but looking at reviews of the model it looks to be a great improvement on some of the Airfix kits of old. I hope you enjoy your time on these forums, we're (mostly :P ) a very helpful bunch of people!

                Hi,

i am part way through building the Lifeboat. This is the first Airfix kit that I have built for quite a number of years. I think that the fit of the parts is not as good as the early Airfix models, but with my experience, it is not imposible. For a 1/72nd scale, it is very highly detailed, I think possibly a larger scale would be better, but I would not put anyone off getting this model.
