I can understand the sulaco going for that price as its a very hard kit to get hold of and if you do it will cost a bit

But the Canberra I don't know what he's done to it to ask that price but if he gets it I'm putting mine on there as it looks exactly the same

Xtrakit 1/72 Canberra PR9 Royal Air Force Recon Jet aircraft Pro built for a magazine with special markings decals. Pro built for a magazine with extras and new decals used from the Model Alliance range. This is a very rare opportunity to buy one of my models which has been built professionally for a magazine. It appeared in print for one of the top modelling magazines and is offered here for sale as I am wishing to clear out some of my 1/72 scale kits. The model has been painted in Gunze acrylics (Airbrushed) and weathered with oils. I have also done a full rivet job on this model. I am not going to pander to silly offers as I know what it is worth as it is , with the magazine article which is readily available it adds to the provenience of the model and therefore the value too.

I will send the model double packed to anywhere in the world insured at the buyers expense. I do not accept returns and will do everything to ensure that you receive the model as it should. I cannot be responsible for the post office and am also willing to do collections from me too.

I've never considered selling a model. I've built a very few to order, but either just about covered material expenses or asked for nothing at all. I certainly didn't profit, let alone cover the 'cost' of the hours put in to them.

I'm surprised that there is a market for completed models. For me the fun is in the making, but I suppose it takes all sorts.

Amati are a Italian maker and are normally excellent quality, they come with brass etchings etc. The Amati Titanic, 1/250 IIRC is around £350, so this kit will have been £300 + probably nearer the £450 + mark.

Trumpeter make very good kits in the main, but I'm guessing there's a Trumpy kit of this subject that doesn't quite cut the mustard - hence his comment!
