And this leads me nicely to my question, what is the most expensive kit you have brought, and was it worth it.... Include a piture of finished kit if possible.

Had a moment at the Telford show in November £90.00 the most expensive piece of plastic I've ever brought.I have kept the receipt it's going back this November lol only kidding I'm keeping it for when i feel I can do it some justice paint and weathering wise so for now it's still in the box.I normally only buy something if I feel it's a bit of a bargain but I've seen these going for well over £100 so that's how I've kinda justified it's purchase But something I wouldn't tell the other half about as she would think I was totally mad and she wouldn't understand so it went straight into the stash pile in the loft.[ATTACH]98663.IPB[/ATTACH]

£90? That's a bargain on any level, when you consider the hours of entertainment it's going to give you. Or, a couple of visits to the hairdressers, according to Mrs R! There are few things that make me totally forget time and space as much as sitting upstairs, painting tiny leather straps on bed-rolls, or carefully scraping flash from a moulding! I'm well jealous of that model, by the way

This is mine at £120 academy HMS Warspite premium edition it was worth it , the kit was very detailed and went together really well

80% of modelers will have a set price in mind and stick to it with the occasional big spend. 10% will get expensive kits as this is what they enjoy-the detailing and complexity and hopefully, a superior finish and end product. The other 10% are true modelers and are normally classed as tight wads-they will scratch make models, and normally they are better than anything produced.

I wouldn't go as far to say that there's 10% of scratch builders produce better models than you can buy , but scratch builders do produce better looking models but most will get things wrong on the build as for accuracy that's a different matter

The ones that scratch build replacement parts are the true modellers I think

I have a 1/72 scale corvette the flower class from revell. Still not finished but it has had over £200 resin, white metal and photo etch thrown at it...

That Bugatti costs a lot for several reasons. It's hard to find. It's big and very nice

Wow, is there a build thread for your corvette?

Having just got into modelling, it's opened my eyes to just how expensive it can get... Was looking to build a truck at some point, and some of them have a tasty price

my most expensive build to date is HMCS Snowberry for which i am waiting for the courier to knock on my door with it. it's costing me £50 plus £6 postage i have been waiting to get this kit for a very long time and i will be doing the rc conversion in between building HMS Prince of Wales so watch out for another build log when i get round to it

Bought a 1/35 scale Dora railway gun 3 and a half years ago for £500.00 English pounds. And the moment I openedthe box I can tell you YES it is wor the it.
