I like to do ships and wingy things as a break, in fact I have built most subjects and if I see something that appeals to me I will build it but always my staple is modern armour/ softskins.
Your preference in Model Building. Trains, aircraft, military etc.

I voted for Sci-Fi as that's what I mainly did last year though the majority of my kits stacked up are WWII builds, something which I will address this year as I attempt to reduce my stash

For me WW2 aircraft but i have done modern military aircraft, armour and ships before including from the age of sail. Overall my interest really is with military based modelling rather than civilian.
WW2 subjects have dominated my modelling comeback but may do more later subjects soon.
If the rumours are true and a 1/32 Bucanneer is released by Trumpeter then I will be getting one and may even also indulge in my second favourite jet and do a F4 Phantom to keep it company.
I did try a tank recently but did not get on with the crazy IFV Club engineering. Maybe soon I will build a Tammy tank. Just for a change.Comment

My interests are quite loose. The BR blue and grey period of railways is the area that I prefer to model and admire but any well built and detailed model railway layout will always catch my eye.
For plastic modelling I enjoy many different aircraft from WW2 to the present day, typically, but not exclusively, RAF, USN, some IJN and Luftwaffe, but it's been a while since I did a German subject. Large aircraft are a draw like Nimrod, Hercules, Atlas, P3 Orion, EC 121, C97, AN24 Cub, C27 and Lancaster. In general though I'll build whatever takes my fancy.
Other stuff I build is small scale armour and soft skins, dioramas, buildings and of course railway wagons and locomotive detailing projects. On the bench: Airfix 1/48 Sea King HC4, Revell 1/24 Trabant.
Coming soon: Airfix 1/72 Phantom FGR2.
Just finished: Airfix 1/48 Stuka & Airfix 1/72 Sea King HC4.Comment

Sci fi...Pass on that. Civilian cars and planes never really grab my attention. Have a soft spot for vintage cars. And VW's (bugs and busses).
My staple fodder is British Army and Royal Navy/FAA. And of course the RAF. Seen to have a few spitfire issues as well lol

Well that is interesting. I guessed aircraft. Only 1 vote for Helicopters
But would never have guessed civilian vehicles as next. I thought Armour would be second.

I've built two helicopters, a UH-1B and a UH-1H, with another UH-1H and a Bell Sioux waiting. If I had been able to choose multiple selections I would have chose helicopters as well. I've also dabbled and will again, with one Bedford refuelling truck and will some day have a go at armoured vehicles and ships. Generally though if it isn't flying then it doesn't really spin my wheels. In addition to my aircraft stash I also have a Schwimmwagen, a Tiger I, an Opel Blitz refueller, some 1/72 figures and an HMS Ajax with PE. Apart from the ship and maybe Tiger, they are all waiting for a few dioramas to supplement a few of my aeroplanes.Comment
