Johnson's Klear V Pledge multi-purpose Wax

I just joined the forum so this might have already been talked about.

As you probably know 'Johnson's Klear' (future) has stopped being cold in the UK. I've heard mentioned the replcement is 'Pledge multi-purpose wax' so I emailed them and the reply was not to use it as it was not ment for models. But it is used in models as a clear coating on canopies, port holes, or windscreens, Johnsons Klear that is. But the talk of Pledge multi-purpose wax to do the same. I haven't met anyone that has used it.

Has anybody experienced this product to give a good, clear finish to the above?

The floor polish from Lakeland mentioned in the Britmodeller thread which you can link to from Allyne's post above (there's a link in the Scale-Models thread) is also a good alternative. I have seen it and the results it gives first hand.

I'm a "+1" for the Lakeland stuff. Has worked well on my small array of models so far, either brushed or sprayed neat. Isn't as cheap as Nu-Klear but I've got it now so that's what I'm using!

Have used both, the new ones slightly milky in appearence but they behave in exactly the same way. Johnsons will tell you to use neither for models, with good reason, they're floor polishes, they don't want to get sued by someone saying I used this on my tamifix 1/24 £350 limited run model and it ruined it

Are the new Klear and the Lakeland stuff just as "runny" as old Klear?
