Been completely out of the modelling 'game' for a while, major mojo loss,

However my son purchased the 1/48 Hawker Hunter from Airfix for my christmas present and that got me fancying building a couple of aircraft to break up the armour I normally do,
so a quick wander around the interwebs and I managed to grab this the other day,
After having a look over the sprues I'm totally stunned by the level of detail packed into the kit, so after way too long I'm looking forward to making a start,

          Hi all

Firstly apologies for not being around much recently but sickness hit the house over Christmas and I'm still not fully over it a week later.

So the following is a summary of recent arrivals, some Christmas related and some 'general' purchases, so not strictly speaking 2025 but you'll have to forgive me

          ACW as usual

          ATB

          Andrew

          ----------------------------------------------

          'General' arrivals
          • The brown packaged contains 650 sheets of the packing paper I use to line the bottom of my spray booth (someone on a local FB group was getting rid of it very cheap just before Christmas....for those familiar with the UK, it's the same paper that fish and chip shops use!!
          • The paint in the middle is for my entry to a Mustang GB on another forum I am on.
          • Masks for some recent wingy purchases

          Christmas arrivals
          • Tempest and tea were Secret Santa presents from someone at work - clearly they know me very well!!!!
          • The Spitfire, mask, SdKfz231 and chocolates were from the kids. I think you will agree that they have a keen eye!
          • Bought the Hasegawa Typhoon with some Christmas money and even got some cash off the sticker price thanks to a birthday voucher from early December. I've been debating getting one of these for a while now, as even though the kit is 25 years old it's still the best 1/48 Tiffy out there and it's the one kit missing from my collection. Not saying that this is the final kit for the stash but there aren't any others I want when I browse the internet.

The 231 is a nice kit. I did the 263 for a shelf of doom build a little while ago, which you might remember?

Yep, all good. Not greatly enthused about modelling at the moment, but I’m sure that will improve….

Here's my latest acquisition. 21" electric snow blower. I'm too old for all that shovelling. I understand that some of you guys could use this today.

My son lives in Michigan and has one very similar. Some winters it gets plenty of use.

Must admit, I looked at it and thought “if I’d had one of those when I was twenty it wouldn’t have ten hours in it yet”…..great tool in the right climate though…

We got about 6" of powder last night & it's still falling at a pretty good rate. No wind so easy shoveling. About 20F so pretty brisk.
Well another 3" since breakfast, still powder thank god, but now a little breezy. Brrrrrrr
BTW, love the Ferrari badge on the tractor.

That Contacta is very useful stuff. Much slower to dry but that can often be an advantage.
                    Working...
