Cabinet colour choice to show off my ships

Hi guys as per topic I am having a bespoke cabinet made and can't decide what colour would be best to show off my 1/200 ships? any input would be greatly appreciated

    ...a neutral colour for sure.
Plain beige would be my choice. I think a 'Loud colour' would detract the eye from the models on show.

Also, beige would go with any additive room colours.

Just my thoughts, as once built, all my stuff goes straight in the loft hardly ever to be seen again. (Until my sons need to dispose of them upon my snuffing it)
    So sadly, no display dilemmas.

Agree ref neutral colour, though I would be tempted by a light to mid toned wood. I would, however, ask for LED strip lighting on the underside of the shelves to give good visibility and a mirrored back to reflect the “other” side and improve rear lighting to minimise shadows….. What I wouldn’t go for is a white background as the ships, which are mid/dark grey I assume, would appear as “black holes” against it.

Light Oak would be my choice with a light source that can have the temp adjusted as found in a photo lightbox.

Think I'd go for plain white, or as they are nautical, a very light blue..... cheers 8-)

If it needs to fit in with other furniture in the room then it would need to be that color. Otherwise go with what the others have said. Like Ron, a display cabinet is not something I have the luxury of owning. Mine go in the loft as well

Any of the neutral colours Brian, so that the models stand out.

I agree with Tim that white might be to stark, especially if you are having lighting fitted.

Looking forward to seeing the finished article

                    Geoff.

Yes lights are being fitted so decided on beige/mushroom Its being made from MDF as wood was way too expensive
