When I was a kid, (maybe 9 or 10 ish) I made the old Airfix German E-boat kit, absolutely I loved it. I did not do a very good job with it, and I can't even remember if I painted it, but I do remember it ended up in the bath many times! and I had it for years.....
Now I'm back into the hobby, I am slowly building all the kits I remember making as a kid, but hopefully doing a better job of it this time round, better builds, painting, weathering, etc.
I have always wanted to build this particular kit again. But it was out of production for years. They do come up on ebay every now and again, but cost a fortune and you never really know what you are gonna get, eg: will it be a complete kits, bits missing or damaged, etc. So up to now I've resisted buying it.
Then Airfix announced they are re-issuing this particular kit, (along with a few others). I've looked at it on the Airfix website many times since their announcement, but never actually bit the bullet and ordered it...... until now!
Just got an email from Airfix with a random discount code, got 15% off, plus had a few Airfix points from previous orders, so instead of £49.99full price, I got it for £42 ish, so I thought why not, and I have finally pulled the trigger and pre ordered it...... now I have the agony of waiting for it to eventually turn up.
