    Spares?

I have a large box of spares - from the 1/16 HobbyBoss Tiger which I may get round to finishing since it's been sat on the shelf for 5-6 years now. I get lots of spares because I don't finish a large percentage of the kits I start - but even then I find it really hard to find bits that are useable for what I want.

How do you guys get your spares as you give the impression you finish most of what you start and yet you always seem to find something suitable?

Good question Gern! Apart from the obvious over-supply (ie Dragon kits) most of my spares are as a result of binning past models to make room for new iterations, breaking down elements of present models to replace them with better representations, freebies or just frustration with sh--e kits! PS I'm in the process of scrapping loads of past productions - I thought I'd post up some of the 'victims' before they go to the plastic Valhalla!) Does this help?

"Found Items", junk yard offers on Ebay, and same as Steve above.

I generally keep any spare parts that I end up with when I’ve finished a kit.

I have an old biscuit tin with a multitude of bits and pieces, bombs, rockets spare aircraft parts etc.

I keep them thinking that they may come in useful but they rarely do 🙄

I know though that if I get rid of them then I’ll definitely need one of the parts that have gone 😂

My spares box has all manner of left over parts, parts from dismantled old models, and scraps of styrene or plastic salvaged here and there. I need to sort it out a bit, but that box of spares has saved me on more than a few occasions

Being still relatively newly back to the hobby, I don't have many spares. But, I have amassed two small plastic trays worth, various bits unused from previous builds, bits of sprue, plus any small bits that I think might be useful for builds, foam, balsa, wire, small stones, gravel, card, old pipettes, etc.
Surprising what little odds and sods can come in handy on a build, especially for Dio's....
