So young Ron 52, 50 46 and 37.

They are near as ancient as Pauline and I. Pauline does cooking and I eat it. It is a combination that is equal in its quest.

This is my hobby or one of them.

Pauline is happy to cook it and see me eat it. I am so happy at that.

I am happy to see Pauline developing her culinary skills and it is her good fortune that I am there to test them.

This is a test of my dedication to helping my wife. So far I think that I have not let her down. I have I think cleared every plate that she has presented to me. It has been such a struggle but I am dedicated to eating..

They're obviously from real life Jim, but how did you get them to pose while you drew them?

Know what you mean Ian. My bowstring used to go all slack and floppy when it got wet - thinking about it, it still does; although I gave up archery many years ago!

I know my way round my kitchen too Ian. Mind you, I ought to, I've been living in the same house for 30 years. Now if only I could find out what all those strange machines and implements are for .....

I don't seem to find much time after I've finished my modelling stuff. I still like my Sudokus (the big multiple grid type) and crosswords though when I get a chance.

Not really a hobby, as such, but cooking and bread making are a real passion...

John now did you make that in a machine ?

Our Panasonic gave up the ghost and we have bought a size for an old couple. If made in a machine and you are an expert what is you recipe ?

Like your prawns my favourite dish garlic and chillies plus a baguette. Baguette or Gros Pain dough from France. Absolute perfection. That is providing you dump the shells damn quick.

Had a machine, but got fed up with the size of the loaf, and the hole in the centre from the rotating blade. Also, didn't like the idea of using sugar and fat which seemed to be omnipresent in all recipes! No, this is flour, water, yeast and salt. The loaf comes out identical every time now, and one of the reasons I went for this method is that I wanted to use my hands! 550g flour ( I use good quality 6 seed from Wessex Flour) sachet of yeast and 10g of salt. Knead for 10 minutes, allow 60-90 minutes rise (take dog for walk) knock it BAC and shape into a tin, let it prove for 45-60 mins, bake at 220 for 15 mins, then reduce to 190 for another 15. Do not eat until cooled! You'll never buy bread again...

And the prawn dish is southern indian prawns in curry leaves, all spices freshly ground, and fresh, un-cooked prawns. Am drooling just thinking about it!

My other hobby, which has been my main hobby for 50 years, is cosmology and astronomy. I like to take photographs through my scope of the Moon, Jupiter and Saturn, also nebula and star clusters. Today astronomy has become very computerised and that makes life so easy. For example, all I have to do is face my scope North aimed at the Pole star and punch in the time and date, it will then pick a star that it knows is handy for me to observe then centre on it and ask me to fine tune centre it in the eyepiece, it will do this with one more star and then it knows very precisely exactly where it is. It already knows the type of scope and will pick the best objects for me to view tonight. Alternately I can ask it to find me an object, such as Neptune say, and it will automatically slew round to it and centre it in the eyepiece. I do not always use the eyepiece, sometimes I plug in a digital camera which plugs into my laptop and I view images on that and use it to take videos for later converting into photos. It's a great hobby.

I was lucky enough to see Jupiter through one of those bad-boys recently, I was gobsmacked!
