    Farewell J. Clarkson.

So, with Clarkson being given the sack do you think Top Gear will continue?

I like Jeremy and his stupid boyish ways, it was what I think most blokes would like to be. However, he had to take it too far and finally he has been fired...silly lad. Maybe it is what he wanted, who knows?

I think Clarkson, captain slow and hamster ARE Top Gear, it won't be the same, it wouldn't surprise me if they all showed up on another channel

I understand Top Gear is (was?) the BBC's biggest earner. So I'd be very surprised if one of the other channels didn't hire them all for a similar program.

Yep have to agree the three of them will soon be appearing on a different channel soon it's such a shame that the BBC couldn't sort the issue out as I feel they might have shot themselves in the foot.I don't know any details of the assault/incident or if any injuries were sustained or maybe it was just pride but feel this maybe have been blown out of proportion a little.Back in the day this little spat they had would have just been brushed under the carpet and they would be mates again by now.But the nanny state we now live in reigns supreme and we have to be careful when sneezing these days.

I can see it from both angles. He was on a final warning, he messed up and has apparently paid the price. We enjoy his anti-PC antics and childish manner on the TV because it sticks two fingers up in the face of authority which we all like, but imagine working with him, it'd be a shocker. On the other hand he and the other two bring in millions of pounds in revenue for the BBC, both from the show, and from merchandise, DVDs, and tour live shows. I'd think that BBC own the brand name Top Gear (and probably the format), so the show as it is now would have to change to something different if they moved.

Yep, if I did that I'd be fired and no complaint, he's a boorish fool - he's the kind of bloke you like watching from a distance but in person you would get very tired of very quickly. The male version of Katie Hopkins - well maybe not quite that bad but of a similar ilk.

Still, money talks and £50m that Top Gear earns will persuade another channel to take them all.

                      He had it coming.

The question is who owns the rights to Top Gear. Another TV channel could hire the team, but could they get the show without the BBC suing their pants off.

One funny thing I did see. I dont know if its true or not but apparently Snicker, the peanut bar firm sent him a whole box in the post. with the comment "Your just not you when you are hungry" in big red letters below the address. LOL

Who is going to want him ???? ............. ITV, CHANNEL 4, SKY ......??? ........ They all depend on advertising for their revenue stream......... and The first time Mr Clarkson slates the new fiesta or Corsa and Ford or Vauxhall pull their advertising contract as a result ........ Forget it. ....... Besides, the bloke doesn't need to work, he is loaded ........ and the royalties for all the "add ons" DVD's, Merchandise and Magazines will have been written into his contract (unless he is stupid as well as arrogant) will see him ok .........

James May's reaction. Made me laugh at the end.

I feel sorry for the producer Oisin Tymon. His world must have collapsed around him. He did not even complain to the BBC or any one else frorm all events. Poor devil.

I do not suppose for one moment he is wealthy like Clarkson. He will have to carry on working for his living. Now he has a sack of coals on his back.

It seems on that score that Clarkson could not care less. Rather sums up the person I suppose. Real shame for Oisin.

On the programme itself I viewed a couple of the episodes and found it mostly like an empty vessel.

So they finally sacked the arrogant SOB, good. I could not stand the the man and I don't really care if top gear never comes back to TV.
