    Some Modelling statistics....

Some find them boring and maybe a bit OCD. But statistics and figures go with my job and they do fascinate me.

This morning, early in my office with my cleaner working around me I had a look back at my 'Modelling statistics'...... I add my stash to a spreadsheet and tick them off when done so this was easy to do....

Models completed since returning to the hobby in September 2011: 25

Average time to complete a model: 2 months

    1/72 aircraft: 1

    1/48 aircraft: 7

    1/32 aircraft: 16

    1/24 aircraft 1

    Airfix: 4

    Italiari: 1

    Academy: 1

    Tamiya: 5

    Hasegawa: 5

    Zoukei-Mura: 1

    Revell: 2

    Special Hobby: 1

    Dragon: 1

    Eduard: 1

    Hobbyboss: 1

    Trumpeter: 2

All WW2 props apart from the ZM and Academy

Plus 3 models unfinished - a Special Hobby Aircobra, AFV Club Centurion, terrible kits, poorly engineered and not fun at all. Plus the Trumpy 1/32 Avenger that was missing its turret, still sat unfinished and will now probably not be finished. May get another.

Stash: 10 - 7 Tamiya and 3 Trumpeter, one on the bench, Hasegawa. All 1/32

4 Spitfires built (all 1/48), 3 in the stash and 1 more wanted.

Currently most desired kit to buy - the HKM Mosquito...

    Have you any stats?

i used to visit the Airfix forum many years ago, til it lost its appeal, and it was a habit there that people had a little matrix in their sig of what they had bought/built over the years..........ive always kept it going on a forum ive been a member of for donkeys years

    A = bought B = Built C = sold/binned/got rid of

    2009 A:72 B:31 C:4 ....2010 A: 50 B: 27 C: 21.......2011 A: 45 B: 25 C: 2 .....2012 A:25 B:19 C:2

    2013 A:25 B:15 C:2.....2014 A:29 B:16 C:0...........2015 A:0 B:3 C:0

i seem to have really slowed down this year
    Per Ardua

We'll ride the spiral to the end and may just go where no ones been

Does too much to build before I die count as a statistic?

Stash probably around 25 figurine models in 1/35 so lots of building there.

Tanks and Cars about 20 all in 1/35

OK so here is mine 2014 I bought 3 models, build 2 of them

Startet 3 Dioramas, sold 2 of them, Last one not finished yet (Market Garden)

2015 bought 2 models didn't start either of them 1/24 Huey and a Horch 15 which I want to convert into an ambulance..

Average building time for a model about 6 months, exception large Dioramas which take over a year or more to build

        Cheers Richi

Depends on how far you have to go before you die Alan. May not be worth the candle.

1/72 8 find that amazing. One in the cupboard a Stranaar then no more 1/72s

1/48 9 on 9 and on the shelf Favourite scale

1/24 Lysander. OK in this scale but will only build if eye sight or fingers get the jitters.

          Oil Drums 10

          Figures 28 soldiers that is

          Kitbags no idea.

I claim immunity on the manufacturers types. Forgotten as 100 brain cells emigrated with each model completed never to return. Little buggers.

Want to get models put on hold. Back to : "Depends on how far you have to go before you die. May not be worth the candle"

Sorry my stats are crap but I've brought loads built some threw one up the wall and still have loads left to build but the trend seems to be I buy more than I can ever build.i just soooooooo love retail therapy and hoarding but the most pleasure I get is keeping them as a guilty secret from the other half its almost like having another woman up in the loft

OK but need to know your IQ first John ? Your political stance. Confirmation of your sex. The mileage of the refurbished cells. Finally do you have excessive sexual tendencies ? Plus have all the cells the same quality as I have enough rogue ones without increasing the number. To save time I am mostly male.

These being answered in an acceptable fashion we should meet to agree an acceptable cost per cell.

Politics = none of them as there all pants

Sex= male last time I looked

Mileage of cells 0 never been used

Sexual tendencies n/a as one has to do it to have a tendency twice a year doesn't really count(she's gone off the boil I think )

All the cells are of the same quality empty

Cost free as long as you don't spoil my good looks on extractiono_O

Not as such but I do have an inventory which I put a completed date on when finished so I have some figures handy. I'll use your format Barry.

Models completed since returning to the hobby in May 2012: 30

Average time to complete a model: 1.1 months

                        1/72 Scale: Aircraft (28) Vehicles (1) Tanks (1)

                        Airfix : 18

                        Academy: 1

                        Italeri: 3

                        Fujimi: 1

                        Hasegawa: 4

                        Hobby Boss: 1

                        Revell: 2

Stash: 58 (2 x 1/32 aircraft, 1 x 1/48 aircraft, 3 x 1/72 vehicles, 52 x 1/72 aircraft). Built more than I have bought in the last two years, many of these are remnants from a previous modelling life.

I'd forgotten one of mine, a single 1/72 so updated figures. For some reason it was not on my spreadsheet....
