    Shot his Computer

Although the method was dodgy I feel sympathy for this bloke in the USA.

I once made a spoof short film where I smashed a keyboard to bits but this shooting of a computer made me laugh. At least it is better than shooting a human.

I thought the bit I have highlighted was hilarious.

A man in the US city of Colorado Springs faces police action after becoming so frustrated with his computer that he took it outside and shot it eight times, police say.

"He was having technology problems, so he took it to the back alley and destroyed it," a police spokesman said.

Lucas Hinch was briefly detained for discharging a firearm within the city.

He did not realise he was breaking the law when he went "Wild West" on his machine, local media reported.

A judge is due to decide what penalty he will receive.

"He got tired of fighting with his computer for the last several months," police spokesman Jeff Strossner told the Colorado Springs Gazette.

The paper said that Mr Hinch "shot the darn thing" when ctrl+alt+delete - the traditional method used to re-boot computers - "consistently did not work" on Monday evening.

"He was able to wreak the kind of revenge most of us only dream about," the paper said. "The computer is not expected to recover."

    Here's the machine in question:

It's a Dell XPS 410 model and is survived by a monitor and a keyboard.

The 38 year old gunman, Lucas Hinch, is a bit of a hippy and runs a homeopathic herb shop! He'd obviously had enough of the Dell and I entirely sympathise

    Cheers

      I sympathise and fully understand.

Needed to print some documents last week: My printer was dead, the wife's printer was just as dead. Found some ink cartridges for mine. Unopened! Put those in to just message that the print head is deceased.

Bought a laser printer. TWO hours to get it set up on the net work..

      Let's just say I'm glad I don't have a gun!!!

Given clear line of site I could kill my works computer from about 900 to 1000 yards, it would never hear it coming.

Seems to have the range of shots well placed.

Two on the CD player. 6 on the processor board. One on the hard drive. Obviously a pro.

          Missed the paint can shame.

Not very good grouping. But effective all the same.

I hate computers but it's a love hate thing. They fail too much but do some great things.

This year I will mostly be sampling virtual reality when it comes out

All my old computers die peacefully and quietly once they get into the twilight years of their lives and things start going wrong and they are no longer as efficient as they used to be they are unplugged from the wall and I have a nice little spot for them at the bottom of the garden out of sight were they generally get weathered for 6-12 months before they get taken to the local dump.

I've got an old (must be more than ten years) lap top in my model room just for showing reference photos and checking t'internet. It doesn't even see its battery so has to be plugged in and is therefore useless as a portable device! It's also an old Dell POS. If it dies I'll smash the hard drive and bin it as unlike Mr Hinch in the US I can't buy a suitable firearm off Craiglist in the UK .

                  Cheers
