[Non scale model related] Planning to visit London

If this is not the appropriate place to post this, please kindly remove.

British Airways is flying to Malaysia again, and there is a good offer to travel between now and November 2015 to London. I am quite tempted, as I never been to that part of the world before [well, not that I've been to many places anyway ]

    May I ask

    1. What is the best time to visit ?

    2. What are the must visit places? [ Are there museums of planes and tanks? ]

    Thank you in advance.

As someone who lives in London Ryan I think the 2 main places are the Imperial War Museum & the RAF museum at Hendon should definitely be on your must-see list!

The IWM is free to enter which is unusual for London!

Other than those, you have the historical options ; Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, the Tower of London, St Paul's Cathedral to name but a few.

Anytime is ok to come although it'she probably best during May-June or September to avoid the smog of during summer.

      Hope this helps

Visit to the RAF is a sure thing, especially for modelling geek like me.

Ipms Farnborough have their annual show in September in Camberley, about an hours train ride or less from London. Also in London is HMS Belfast, part if the IWM. Other interesting museums are the British museum, museum of London , science museum, natural history museum, V&A and the London transport museum. The RAF museum at Hendon is free I think and hannants have a shop a five minute walk away.
On the bench: Airfix 1/48 Sea King HC4, Revell 1/24 Trabant.
Coming soon: Airfix 1/72 Phantom FGR2.
Just finished: Airfix 1/48 Stuka & Airfix 1/72 Sea King HC4.

Must visit Duxford! Also the RAF museum. Great sites of armour and aircraft. Duxford has BOTH aircraft and armour. I have been to England before, and it is great in terms of the variety of aircraft. They even have engines and missiles.
