    My week of hell

    Hi guys

Thought I'd let you in on a week from hell of mine.

Past few weeks I've been having the odd headache sometimes more sever than others. So the boss tells me go see the Dr which I hesitantly do. Gets a few standard questions and the very next day ( Friday I go for blood tests but have to make an appointment at opticians for Monday

Monday comes and I go to opticians do a few sight tests pressure rests etc

Then they do my perifial vision test and the opticians face looks a bit puzzled so he says he'll send his report to my dr but I may need a scan etc blah blah blah

Ok so now I go to work Monday afternoon and I'm not really allowed my phone on ringer at work but vibrate, 1730 my phone ringing ( vibrating in my pocket ( unknown number ) I ignore it then again vibrates in my pocket I ignore it

By the sixth ring I answer its my surgery calling me.

I'm at work, I work with special needs I can't really talk but she says I have to go to hospital then and there as I may have a head bleed possible mini stroke etc

What I say . I'm at work I can't leave etc but she insists so I have to call my boss to get away and for someone to come take my place

My wife goes nuts asking me a Miriad of questions I can't answer

I'm crapping myself thinking what's going on

Wife turns up at work and takes me down to A and E where I'm expected!!

I get out on a ward and 3 hours later gets to see the Dr and he does simple tests and asks a lot of questions

Tomorrow I'm having a brain scan ( best of luck finding that...... And a lumber picture test ( ouch )

Wife's just left me to go home I'm bricking it thinking what the he'll going on

Next time I'm not going to say I got a damned headache!!!

    Regards

    Robert

Just calm down mate, let the docs run their course, more than likely not the worst, have a nice dinner with the Mrs. Don't get her upset and everything will be fine..............Jim

They will find your brain OK Robert. Just think model making and it will shine thro. so much they cannot miss it.

Things are happening that is the main things. Had a couple of scares. Mine tuned out to be stress which causes all sorts of weird things to happen.

Hope all goes well Robert. Report back here as it is a great help I find to communicate.

      Cheers Robert. o_O

Fingers crossed it's nothing serious Robert & that it all goes well for you.

Whilst I admire your commitment to work, remember you'll be no help to those you help if you're laid up! Heath always comes first!

Get yourself sorted Rob! I sometimes wonder how many blokes have left early due to the "It's only a scratch!" syndrome!

Good luck Robert, hope all gets sorted and the worry is for nothing but your health must come first and you cannot just ignore symptoms. Us men, we are terrible for that, just soldiering along thinking it will get better - I am as bad as anybody.

I think you need to own up, the pain in your head was nothing more than you trying to work out how you are going to tell the Mrs you've just bought another kit

On a serious note Robert I hope all goes well for you mate.

Take it easy mate, I can sympathies partly as I had scans etc after I went to the optician-for 2 months I didn't know if I had a brain tumour-was driving me insane-turned out I have Optic Drusen-blown optic discs.

Hope it gets all sorted for you, and work will have to wait, I would rather be on benefits and with my family than...well, you get the picture.

My thoughts are with you and your family.

Hope it turns out ok. I had very similar problemswhich after several specialists, tests and scans turned out to be a recurring migraine. Each migraine would trigger another one off. Lasted four years during which time I had a wonderful assortment of pills including one that took all the pain away but also soothed me onto cloud nine, even the front wheel departing from my motorhome while circumnavigating Paris didn't faze me at all whereas normally I would have been running around like a headless chicken. In the end it stopped after I had a tooth out which unbeknown to me and the dentist had had a leaking abcess for all that time. The headaches stopped within a week of having the tooth out.

Hi hope it all ends up being nothing, not going to the doctor is never the right corse of action, trust me I know I had a recurring pain in my testicle which like we all do I ignored it till it got do bad I couldn't turns out I had torsion of the testicle, trouble is I left it too long and being as how it had been starved of blood for so long they had to remove it so next time ( hopefully not but if there is make sure you go to the docs sooner rather than later) anyway it will probably turn out to be nothing more serious than L,O,M syndrome. That's Lack Of Models syndrome. Easy to say but try not to worry I'm sure they'll sort you out.

                              Update

                              Hi chaps

Thank you all for your kind words and comments

I have spent 2 and a bit days in hospital ct scans and Mri scan vision tests etc and the result was they say I have had a mini stroke but am on the mend ( some time off work to re cooperate but should be ok in a couple of weeks. But of a shock and an eye opener to me and my loved ones but that is an action that now I have to look after myself a bit better ( more tablets etc to take and more ongoing tests but as my lovely wife says " they ain't taking my Bertie just yet.

Got to make a few small changes like more small walks and a bit more healthy eating and less stress ( I'm married how can I reduce the stress!!!!

Thanks again for your kind words

                              Robert
