    Fun to see. But can you guess what they are

    hi chaps


    For my birthday the wife took me to east fortune air museum in East Lothian and seeing just out of hospital from a mini stroke she took all the pics etc and I thought of the forum. She suggested I put a few pics on to see if the boys knew what was what


    Just for a bit of fun

      the blue one is an AEC Matador....raf luqa is on Malta


      the green one is a green goddess fire engine


      no idea on the engine

            The engine doesn't look like any Merlins I've seen in other museums, and it's obviously an inverted vee. Possibly a Daimler-Benz recovered from a crashed German aircraft


            The painted numbers just visible behind the pipe towards the front of the engine look WW2 German style

              The engine looks very much like the one in my stalled Me-410 - no clue what type without looking at the destructions though.

                Having had another look it looks like a DB 601.

                  First prize to you all it was a matador and it was a green goddess and Alan hit the nose of the head it was a Db 601 from a me 110 that was shot down at East fortune by a beaufighter coastal command
