I know I have posted some pics of my work area, as well as my paint area. After a little thought I came up with a new configuration that combines both.
First up, is a pic of my actual modeling area. Part of the reason I did this makeover, is my extreme dislike of clutter. I like my work area clear of anything except for the necessities.
On the back I have a magnetic strip for the tools I use most often. On the right is a shelf/channel thing I fabricated out of clear corner protectors. I use this for my cements, small bottle of thinner, and my container I store my Q-tips and toothpicks in. On the left of the desk top is a small wooden bowl I found at a local craft store. It cost $2.00. Inside of it, is a piece of packing foam cut to fit. I use that to stick my knife, tweezers, and cement brush. The cup is set into a piece of packing that my shaving mug came in. The cup fits perfectly, so I don't knock it over, and there is a small hole in the foam just to the front right of the big one that is perfect for a cement, or paint bottle. In the center is a sippy cup paint brush holder. It fits in the hole bored in the desk top for computer/monitor cables

Next, is the awesome drawer unit my wife found for me. I installed it between my desk and my son's. That way we can both use the contents. In the drawer unit I have all of our paints, paint supplies, seldom used tools, airbrush stuff, and research materials. On the top is my paint area. I bought a lazy susan thing and plywood round for a spinning paint table. In the back, I bored a hole large enough for my CO2 cylinder to fit. I created a holder underneath using plumber's tape and lined that and the hole itself with some dense, rubber weatherstripping. The roll-looking thing bridging the gap over the paint area, is a roll of paper cut to the appropriate width, with a wire clothes hanger shaped to fit, so the paper hangs above the paint area. When I am ready to paint, I simply unroll the paper to protect the cabinet surface and paint away.

And here is what it looks like all together. You can barely make out my son's desk on the right.

The mini refrigerator I had between our desk before is to the left of my desk now.
Anyway, that is my new and improved, more organized so I don't go crazy, work area.
