They were all brilliant........ It was the early sixties. Gerry & Sylivia Anderson were a real Genious couple......... Thunderbirds was proper seat of the pants stuff back then as a kid......... Although I think my favourite vehicle as a kid was definitely Stingray.

Just watched The Pit of Peril again! The music was so important to adding that sense of danger & excitement!

Yes, in not alone in loving tb2, awesome fat green blob that dropped off some class vehicles. Loved the way it has wings like a dodo but acted like a graceful Harrier and dramatically dropped the pod after getting up on its spindly wee legs and yeah it was just stupidly awesome.

Along with many others I suspect Thunderbirds actually got me into modelling. The first episode I ever saw, series one, episode 1, left such a lasting impression I can remember it now just as well. Fireflash, the airliner, had gear trouble and couldn't land. It was circling while Thunderbirds arrived and set up Thunderbird 2. The tension was unbelievable as the fuel in Fireflash got lower and lower. Out of TB 2's pod came these flat topped trucks with around eight massive wheels and a flat bed on top. They accellerated up the runway and of course Fireflash timed it's landing to perfection and dropped it's nose on the trucks. The trucks were nothing like I'd ever seen before. They were grubby, they smoked, they looked real, the engine noises were out of this world as they accelerated up to the required speed to match the ever decending Fireflash and it was all absolutely breathtaking. I was hooked on modelling from that day forth, which must be something like over fifty years ago.

Those flat topped trucks were the best models I ever remember the Andersons making and boy would I love to see one now!

and I even found it on Youtube. I remember now there was a bomb in the landing gear so they couldn't use it. I kid you not it brings a tear to my eye now watching it.

By the way who remembers Thunderbird 6? Without looking it up who can remember what it was? I went to see the movie as a young kid.
