Thanks guys, my wife really is taking this badly, she loved Scratch, but always said she was a little bitch, she can't stop sobbing every time she looks out of the window.

They really do get to you, once again thank you for your kind words.Comment

 Sorry for your lose Tommy.

Why do we do it to ourselves!?

Have pet because it's company, it passes, we mourn, then go and get another bloody pet to do it all again, oh...hang on a minute, I see a pattern forming...its a vicious circle but we just do it again.

Are we all animal lovers on this site?

Think I might go and hug a tree!

 Peace man o_O

Almost lost count of all the pets we've had over the decades, with two boys and no girls we've had every thing from snakes to turtles to lizards to fish to cats and dogs, no more dogs but three outdoor only cats and one inside only cat, not many mice about you can imagine.

The outdoor ones live mighty comfortably in the barn, they are getting on a bit in age but they are fat and healthy, the indoor kitty is only about 2 years old and jet black. When my son and his lady were fishing at a local lake they kept hearing this very faint meowing and finally tracked it down to the tiniest little thing they had ever seen all alone it seemed virtually in the middle of nowhere so home she came and has been here ever since. The missus just loves her and has a panic attack when she thinks she might have gotten out but she hasn't yet. Us oldsters always out live a bunch of pets but we keep their memories alive. Comment

Sorry to hear about Scratch, Tommy. It's terrible to lose a much-loved pet, we have two cats, which are brother and sister, and can't imagine life without them.

The pain of Scratch's passing will pass - and I'm sure your local cat rescue will have a suitably mad specimen to help ease that pain.
