I like that new Kit-Starter feature on their website too, it lets everyone put in their own ideas and lets everyone come together and pitch in to get old kits re released and new kits to be released

youve got to remember that aircraft are 'Airfix's thing'......say Tamiya and you think of 1/35 armour and 1/24 cars......say Bandai and im thinking sci fi....so its natural for them to specialise in what they are known for...........they are a business dont forget, they have to make a product that need to sell to make a profit....trying to break into a market that they are not as well known for is a gamble

and it takes a long time, years even, to research and design a kit, costs a lot to cut the tooling.....which of course needs to produce and sell a certain amount to pay for the costs before it makes a profit

i know they say they have this new 3d scanner technology which is great......as long as you have something to scan in the first place....you cant do something thats really interesting if its so rare that there isnt one around available to scan

We'll ride the spiral to the end and may just go where no ones been

It seems to me airfix is just releasing small scale spitfires. Would be nice if they realesd more large scale aircraft with the same level of detail as the typhoon
I don't have the large Typhoon, but have built four of their small offerings and have to say the "price per detail" ratio is very good. New Tool of course, not the old stuff !
