    Why is it?

    Why is it that:

    1) whenever I put down a round file and go to pick it up again it’s turned into a flat one?

    2) that little brass bearing I’ve lovingly created and put in the box is gone when I come to insert it?

    3) the control rod I’ve just measured and tested ‘in situ’ is ½” short when I come to fit it?

    4) the hole I’ve just drilled to fit a stanchion into is no longer there once I’ve put the epoxy on the stanchion?

    5) the parts so lovingly filed and test-fitted are too small after they’re painted and final gluing is about to take place?

    6) those M4 bolts I carefully put in the box have suddenly acquired M3 nuts when I go to use them?

    7) my only tube of epoxy resin runs out as soon as I open the new hardener

    8) the battery I carefully charged up, checked and installed before leaving for the pond is flat when I go to launch the boat?

    9) the receiver crystal in the boat has changed frquency the next time I go to use it?

    10) my pipe has always disappeared from where I last laid it down?

‘Bermuda Triangle Effect’ I call it!

Dunno maan, but when you find out, let me know! Could be the salvation I,ve been waiting for ......

My problem is with the 'safe places' !! I know I put it away in a safe place so I haven't lost it .. I just can't remember the safe place I used on that occasion.

              Sheesh its frustrating.

One day I'll find ALL the safe places at once and be able to instantly build another boat.

Now there's an idea. You start mixing vinyl silk in her food processor!!!

Never ever tidy up ! you will loose track of every tool, part and gizmo,my parts strewn workbench is like an instant filing system, amongst the dust and stryne lie encrusted tools, the debris marks their place.

Beware of two part epoxies that are guaranteed to drip their contents forever into you tool box, ever seen what encapsulated screwdrivers look like ? a piece of art in themselves, place each into a ziplock bag so that they never infuse automatically.

Beware,Gremlins are at work 24 hours a day in your workplace and inside your model, these unseen creatures which come in differing scales can wreak havoc anywhere.

They even attack your workshop, the fine weather has twisted the weatherboarding on my shiplap sheds,no doubt aided by the proverbial 'gremlin' if you catch one, place it into a matchbox and send it to us marked 'Urgent' they can normally be only destroyed by glueing their feet to a piece of railway sleeper, with the best cyno available !

I think I have caught some of the culprits!!!!

There ya go nabbed the little buggers!

Since the dawn of time mankind has been plagued by evil gremlins. We are'nt losing our marbles with old age, we have'nt got mad cow disease. I know for certain when i put something down, I can never find it again.

Grems have cost me a fortune in p/brushes-pens-lighters-cigarettes-vodka-beer-files-elastic bands...all of which were always there a moment ago!!!
