CA Glue

Is CA Glue different from Super Glue as I have been told to use CA Glue to stick EZ Line which I have been advised to use as antenna wire for my aircraft I am making...


So if any of you could advice me I would be grateful.

I have tried many types and this is the best one I have found, having been very disappointed at times with various brands - you can get it in thin, medium and thick for various uses. I use the thin for EZ Line.

I use Loctite who do a thin and gel. As Barry I found a lot of CA glues not good. Reading about it the


cheaper ones on average their ingredients are not what the better ones are. I thought they would all


be the same but they are not. The strengths differ.


As Barry I use the thin one for rigging. It is easy to think that a dollop is better. However a dollop


takes longer to cure. Best is to use as little as possible or you will be holding the EZ line all night..


I also use a primer. If I am having difficulty setting I use a very small drop of accelerator.


I use a sewing needle. Cut a small part of the threading end off. Heat the other end red hot with a


lighter and plunge it into the end of a piece of sprue to make a handle.


After use or when the end is clogged with a lighter I burn off the CA. When cool just gently sand off


the black.

i buy the cheapo stuff in Boyes,.....normally the thick stuff, rarely seem to need the thin but i do have a bottle for when i do.....never had any problems with it, works for me

CA glues (cyanoacrylate) are superglues, though they are not all equal. I tend to buy small quantities cheaply. Many branded model CA/superglues come in fairly large containers which means that the glue will go off before you've used it, unless you are doing something extraordinary with it. Once opened all CA glues go off, they react with water in the atmosphere. You can slow this down, like any chemical reaction, by keeping the glue cold. I did try to store mine in the fridge but after a 'discussion' with SWMBO I no longer do this. The limp should get better soon
