    Pix From The Sticks

Some things do make me happy {believe it or not} and very much at peace.....note tracks of big buck I've been chasing for some time now "The General" I call him, a majestic beast if there ever was one. Probably wouldn't have the heart to take him even if he ever does give me a chance at a good shot.

Good for the gene pool anyway {I keep telling my self} Lots of big bear about, starting to become a slight problem now and then, problem is not enough bear hunters but I couldn't bring myself to shoot them either......some hunter, ha!

They are absolutely beautiful!...May God bless them with peace and happiness. An old Ranger myself, stayed in 6 years, two stints in hell and lived to tell about it. Can't elaborate though, only happy talk allowed, and pix of your beautiful family have made my morning..............thank you for that ................Jim

Thanks Dave , don't know how serious you are but the state of Pennsylvania {where Philly is} is a very large state with every type of terrain you might like from flat farmland to rolling hills to mountains.

Land can be purchased very cheaply, the bigger the tract the less per acre. Now if you were to head out west or in the deep south they practically give it away.

I myself "own' 40 acres but have immediate access to hundreds of square miles of state preserve land with full hunting, fishing and timber rights. Always cutting new hunting trails,we call them "drags"

for obvious reasons, have gotten lost a few times over the years when I plunged too deep too fast after the big one, I now carry a compass was born and raised in New York City, hated every minute of it. .................Jim

                          That's it I'm selling up!

Seriously though I would love to visit the states, not sure I would ever come back!

I would imagine that New York City has its own particular charm and beauty (for the tourist anyway), but I also imagine the noise, continuous rush and crime would be unbearable to live in, it's bad enough when I visit London for example, after a day there its nice to get away from it and away from the hustle and bustle of it all.

Don't get me wrong Dave,I love NYC it's my home town after all. Though I've not lived there for nearly 30 years, times have changed so much that it's not the same city I grew up in, demographics have changed so drastically that the 'old neighborhoods' are nigh unrecognizable. If that's progress then they can have it. Time seems to stand still in these primordial forests with the same natural struggles for life and death proceeding undisturbed for millennia and we do our utmost to keep it that way. This precious gift from the Almighty in its ballet of simplistic complexity and brutal beauty shall eventually absorb me, physically and spiritually, as it should............Jim

You know Dave I couldn't care less what team does what {except the Giants and Jets} I just love the game, absolutely brutal but intricately strategic at the same time, though I rarely have time to watch. The game a stiff toddy and a nice aromatic cigar {though the Missus relegates all smoking to the porch} and I'm good. Gloomy weather when I took pics but the mood just struck me. this will be our fate soon enough though it is very late in coming this year, must be El-Ninoo_O
