Most will be aware by now that we have lost one of the greats of Rugby Union today. I saw him play once 'in the flesh' and many times on television. He was some player, I doubt we'll see his like again. Here are his fifteen world cup tries back to back, some of them make painful viewing for an Englishman, but not as painful as it was for the Englishmen (and others) who he ran over or discarded like rag dolls

Yep, the man was a rugby juggernaut. Had many health issues in his short life, and a donor kidney. He did a great job as a rugby ambassador at the recent World Cup. He returned to New Zealand on Tuesday in what appeared good health and passed away yesterday, Wednesday 18th November. RIP Jonah Lomu.

Very sad to see such a great man passing so young. I haven't seen a report yet that doesn't say how gentle a giant he was but the interview that stuck with me was the one where he described his challenged childhood being directed onto the rugby field to allow him to develop into a much calmer person.


What a great example to us all.
