Founds some piccies of my vehicles.

I was trawling through some old piccies and found some piccies of various motors from the past 13 years or so, I spent and lot of money doing and adding. These are all before my illness took hold.

My Jap import Mazda Bongo day van, all kitted out.

The Avondale caravan was also ours.

Here is my Rover 'The Silver Smoothie' 25 Sport.

Again with my caravan, this car was prior to the Bongo.

A couple of these pics were in a original Rover/MG calender.

            A van, caravan & a Rover... sigh :P

At least there's one fast car amongst that lot! Not much room for the shopping though

Here's my old drive & my current one

There seems to be a boy racer theme with you Patrick, saying that the Golf looks better than the slammed Pug.

Si, no kids, no dogs mean I can indulge my need for speed!! The Pug was probably the best car I've owned pound for pound, but very fragile.

The Golf spends much more time on the road than the Mi16 ever did!

As you say, with no kids etc why not spend the cash on something you enjoy. The Mi16 was a 1.9 giving 160bhp IIRC the engine was also the basis for the 206 rally car. Certainly had some grunt.

My missus loved Pugs, not fast ones, but they all ended up knackered. A 106 she had for work a diesel (supposed to be bulletproof) ended up with a severe engine fault, and another diesel in a 206 SW also developed a severe engine fault, with over a £1000 spent on trying to sort it, including a recon engine.

My Rover sport was fast and even went around the Croft circuit, handled well, it did have lowered suspension and a race tuned engine. Never had a problem, was fun to drive too.

The bongo looked like a great family vehicle Si , and loving the slammed Mi 16 Patrick , proper old school ! as you say the old hot cars were a bit more fragile / less safety conscious than nowadays but loads of fun nevertheless. Tony
