    Fossils.

Many years ago I used to collect fossils, when my lad was younger we used to go along the beach on the East Coast and find Ammonites etc.

I have got rid of many items but just kept a couple of pieces that I love.

Not a fossil as such but beautiful weathering rock.

    A polished fossil branch slice.

And my fave, a tiny fossil fish.

This is the reverse side showing a partial fish.

They are very nice Si. It's strange isn't it how we stop doing things just because our children grow up.

That's awesome! We have shale pits on the property and we get plenty of shells and such but never any actual fish.

There is a favorite swimming hole not far and the huge flat rock that people hang out on has a gigantic prehistoric fish skeleton right at the surface!

It must be at least two meters long with huge fangs.

Hard to believe that these mountains were once under ancient seas and boy would I have loved to have had him on the end of a line
