Before buying my plastic Mercedes Bens SLR, I saw their amazing range of 1/8 cars....

Seems they come painted and metal made....

£500 is about the starting point for their 1/8 car kits , as polux says they look amazing! I suppose its a matter of how much enjoyment youll get out of it and the hours its going to take to build , if you look at it like that then i suppose its not bad , after all we're now buying 1/32 aircraft kits for £100 without batting an eyelid (Tamiyas excellent new stuff) ,me though? - im a yorkshireman like yourself John , it makes me shudder thinking about it!!!

As nice as it is, and as much as I would love to buy one, I suggest that you don't get them in stock as a standard item....lol

If you really insist, I will however build one for you and do a full build thread for you........no? OK then lol.

This is one model I would really like to do. Only problem is the price tag!

I think we should all club together, get the money buy it and then it does the rounds for folk to do a bit. Once finished we work out a rotor and folk keep it for a while before passing it...sounds like a plan to me

Instead of the retail cost can the shop find a cost price from the manufacturer and we could make a donation have you experts build and paint it then sell it/ auction it online and any profits be donated to a charity? Maybe in your late friend jono's name? (rip)

I think it's cheap, if I could justify it to the missus I would snap one up in a second (having said that if I could talk her into that I would be able to talk her into the Deagostini royal Sovriegn) no contest there ahoy shipmates.

These mega-kits aren't expensive at all if you count hours/fun/enjoyment as part of the equation.

You can buy a £20 Revell car and build it quite nicely in a matter of days if you so wished.

ANY Pocher is a huge project that can easily take 6 months to well over a year to complete.

Then of course comes the inevitable detailing and super-detailing.

The next question though, is do you WANT a kit/project to last that long?

                        For me - YES.

Personally I'm in shock about the £250 display case!

                              Sadly, I'm a 1/8 model car fanatic.

Currently, 10 built, 2 'in progress' and 5 more in the stash.

Another 3 in 'planning' as scratch builds...
