I don't worry about the cost, I can't afford things like poacher kits, but believe me if I could afford them I would have them people buy according to what they fancy and can afford, and that is as it should be, keep your spirits up mate, we all know you are an exceptional Modeler whatever the cost 1£ or 1000000£s you will always produce a masterpiece, there are a lot of modelers on here I look upto and you are in the top rank IMHO. Onward to the next masterpiece mate, keep at it.

We've all been there Polux! These things happen

Open up your thread again, and carry on. That's probably what Ron was more upset about than you starting this thread my friend.

It's a fact of life that some people have more disposable income than others, no matter what they spend it on. To some a £100 kit is like another's £50 one.

I've seen posts where people ask what kit to buy with a budget of £50, and then suggestions come in going up to 3 times that amount! Nothing wrong with that because we're all different & also passionate about the kits we love.

There's enjoyment in a well-engineered kit like one of the Tamiya 1/32 aircraft kits. I'm sure they're a pleasure to build & worth the high purchase price.

Similarly there's a great deal of satisfaction from an old cheap kit - triumphing over the flaws & getting a great result.

We see all sides of the modelling spectrum here & long may that continue!

Group hug for Polux :P , It shouldn't matter how much it cost provided you enjoy building it! I have my eye on a £200 Harley and when I have the cash I will buy it. The only problem is I will be scared stiff of mucking it up

i have no problem with someone building whatever they want, dosnt matter if its £2.50, £25 or £250...........if you can afford it then go for it............certainly nice for the rest of us to watch something expensive and seldom done go together

i do have a problem (which i experienced on another forum) where theres a form of snobbery sets in to see who can spend the most on a kit............they would spend 30 quid on the kit then another 150 quid on the aftermarket stuff 'cos it is better'.............then spend a fortune on the bits for a dio to put it on
              Per Ardua

We'll ride the spiral to the end and may just go where no ones been

I must admit I have also seen this, what gets me is that at least 40% of the PE stuff you don't see or are not used. Again, you model to your budget, I try and do dio bases as best I can with junk I have, if I am flush that month I may get some odds and sods for a base. Nothing wrong with getting PE and making a model 'pop' but Paul is right some folk dismiss a model because it hasn't got loads of brass work all over it...pure nonsense really.

A kit is just a kit. The price is just the price. It is what someone does with the kit that matters. You can have as much fun with a five pound kit from the bargain bin as you can with a two hundred pound super kit. You can also make just as good a model from both.

I enjoy building and seeing others build kits from across the spectrum. Snobbery about kits is just idiotic, life is too short to get worked up about utterly irrelevant nonsense like that!

                  Cheers

I don't know what this is about, but I now want to see the build, you carry on Polux.

I've always enjoyed your builds and that of other's, and who cares what they cost....just admire the build and workmanship that goes into these kits, that we all enjoy building

Build what you like and buy what you want. Spent a fortune on Marklin rail stuff over the years but the enjoyment from it has been amazing. Now buying kits at a fraction of the price and getting just as much enjoyment from building. Just shows that what you spend makes no difference. I would rather drive a Subaru than a Rolls Royce (apologies to all Rolls owners on here)

It is all just a matter of what you want to buy and what you want to spend.
